Social media posts, by nature, are instant and don’t last. You have a limited amount of time to get the attention of a new or returning customer and capitalizing on the instant nature of social media can be used to your advantage. For this reason, using words like “Act Now” or “On Sale This Week Only” will engage the customer and fill them with a sense of urgency to purchase the item you are selling. Depending on your type of business, you can also offer things like free shipping or buy one/get one, etc. on your social media pages. Posting different time-sensitive offers on various social media networks will increase your traffic and sales.

Another social media tactic to increase your marketing and sales is to ask your fans to share, repin or retweet something. Encouraging your customers to share the news about your contest is a great way to promote it. You can also give them an extra chance to win if they share your promotion. By asking your audience to interact with your social media content, they are more likely to share it.

It is extremely important that your social media profiles and business information be up-to-date.
